Shamans (巫, Fu) are humans who are trained by the Godai Order to utilize their spiritual awareness to interact with souls in the Seireitei. They guard the human realm from evil Yokai and help souls pass on the afterlife.
Appearance[]
Shamans normally wear Jōe (浄衣) robes and carry K'rik (錫杖キリク Kiriku) staffs while guarding shrines. In order to hide their presence in public, Shaman's will often wear normal clothes while investigating Yokai appearances.
Meister[]
- Note: Meisters are classifications of Shaman that refers to their respective fighting style or role.
- Fighter: The broadest classification of Shaman. Warriors who use their Shamanic abilities and weapons to combat Yokai at close-range.
- Dragoon: Shamans who use weapons and Soul Compression to shoot bullets or beams of energy made from their Soul.
- Healer: Shamans capable of using the Healing Wavelength.
- Onmyoji: Shamans who specialize in Onmyo Magic.
- Summoner: Shamans who mainly summon Spirits and are capable of communicating with the Kami, many have precognitive abilities.
- Puppetmaster: Shamans capable of using Soul-thread sutures for a variety of purposes.
- Necromancer: Shamans who can use pieces of their Soul or the Soul of their Shikigami to reanimate corpses or skeletons.
- Bard: Shamans who utilize musical instruments as a means of tuning their Soulwavelengths or the Wavelengths of their allies.

- Witches: A nearly extinct clan of female Shaman who used their talent for sorcery in an effort to secede from the Order.

- Fuko (Shaman in Training): Young Shaman attending Five Elements Academy.
- Fuhei (Shaman Warrior): Average mid-level Shaman.
- Fujin (Shaman Master): Highest and most respect Shaman.
Duties[]
Exorcism: A Shaman's primary task is to defend the living world from intrusive Yokai. By exterminating a Yokai's tainted soul, their existence is exorcised from the human world.
- Cleansing: An alternate method to dealing with Yokai is to cleanse them of their Yoki and give them a role as a familiar spirit, potentially a Guardian Ghost.
The Sending: Another main duty of a Shaman is to seek out wandering souls and help them pass onto the afterlife through a ceremony known as "The Sending". This prevents human ghosts from evolving into Yokai.
Shrine Governance: The Godai Order's association of Shrines are temples that serve as headquarters for Shamans in their respective region as well as portals to the Seireitei. Shamans are assigned duties to maintain the Shrines, which includes guarding them against invasion. These Shrines are also essential for religious observance, in which Shamans worship the Kami and pay their respects to the planet.
Training[]
Godai Academy: An educational institution dedicated to training the next generation of Shaman. The Academy itself is a building hidden within a pocket dimension specifically created to keep the school a secret. Within normal society, Godai Academy is disguised as a cram school for students that specializes in Soul Studies.
Combat[]
Shikigami: Spirit-allies that serve Shaman. In order to gain the power necessary to combat Yokai, every Shaman needs a Guardian Spirit that they can call on for more power. The first step to becoming a Shaman making contact with a Spirit in order to form a soulbound.
